Hi all,
We are a service provider and we utilise MX80's and MX104's in our access layer. We've had more than one occassion when a customer has created a spanning tree loop in their switch network connected to an inet port on one of MXs which has resulted in the MX becoming unstable.
On the last occurance we noted 1.3mpps recieved on a ge inet port. When this was occuring we had intermittant remote access to the MX, and noted OSPF and BGP flaps/instabilities. The logs on the MXs showed that VRRP unstable first, followed by BFD and then OSPF and BGP.
We have ARP policers on the interface but these did not help.
Does anyone know what we can do to prevent loops in customer networks from causing instabilities on the MX?
Thanks in advance
Chris
