If it is transit traffic and you know which prefixes you are looking for, you could apply a firewall filter on the ingress interface to match the prefixes, count and log them for viewing the type of traffic. However, do not forget to add the "accept" action, else it would drop the traffic.
Unfortunately, "monitor traffic interface x/x/x" cannot be used to monitor transit traffic.
