Advice on switch cutover

Hi all, first off, thank you for your warm welcome to the community. I love Juniper!

I was hoping for your advice and experiences with cutting over core nodes to a new location.

We are moving a large collection of node connections, l2 and l3 switches to a new location. In the process we are swapping out some multimode fibre to single mode that feeds buildings hanging off. Our core switch feeds uplink connections to several other buildings. To save on configuring new links and OSPF trunks we are going to cutover the existing switch configuration to the new switch and then begin swapping the connections out to move to the new building.

Can you guys provide any adivice on this kind of project? Is there any configurations we need to make to the switches when moving to a new location? The old switch will be turned off long before the new so we don’t need to worry about IP conflictions.

WIth buildings moving from multimode to single mode, is it just a case of swapping out the fibre and SFP and mirroring over the required strands either side? I’m unsure if we need to configure anything on the switch side?

I would appreciate any advice you can offer. Thanks!
